Final Products

Question 1 Evaluation

'In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?'
Our documentary along with the ancillary texts uses the forms and conventions of media products in a number of ways. We went through all the codes and conventions by analysing professional documentaries and try to use and apply these conventions while making our documentary.

Question 2 Evaluation

'How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?'

This video/audio describes how well the 3 products are combined to make one package.

Question 3 Evaluation

'What have you learned form your audience feedback?'

We did not carry out audience feedback in school, so to get feedback on our we put our products on social media sites, for example Facebook, links on Twitter and Youtube. This allowed our target audience to watch and review our products and give constructive feedback. Here are some screengrabs from Facebook and Youtube showing the response.

The Feedback was very positive over all, people said that they liked our documentary and found it interesting. They also commented that it looked professional and had some humourous elements.
As well as this they said that the music was good and that the documentary was similar to professional ones they had seen.

This is a video of some feedback from Christine, she is 18 which is in our target audience age range.

Question 4 Evaluation

'How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages'

This Prezi show the research that we carried out on the Internet and the tasks we completed using Microsoft Office programmes whilst making out documentary.

Technology – filming and editing from sophiemoran

These are the different tools I used while completing the evaluation.

SlideShare is a website which enables the user to upload PowerPoint presentations and embed them onto a blog. There is also the option of adding sound and video to the presentations. PowerPoint is good for getting a lot of information onto one presentation and making it interactive for the viewer.

Prezi is an online presentation creator. The presentation is a bit more interesting than a normal PowerPoint. The zooming feature gives the viewer a tour of the information and images on the presentation. There are different themes to choose from to make the presentation eye catching and bold.

I used video/audio for question 2. This was good because it was a more creative way of conveying informtion.

I used Facebook to gather feeback on my media products. Facebook is a popular social networking site that allows people to connect with their friends and family. Facebook gave my friends who were in the age range for the target audience of my documentary the opportunity to look over and review my work. This was very useful in gathering audience feedback, and constructive criticism.

I used Twitter to post a link to the documentary on Youtube. This helped to get more people to comment on the documentary.

I used Youtube to broadcast my documentary to the world. This enabled anyone to watch and comment on the documentary.

Drafting Newspaper Advertisement

We did two drafts of the print advertisement, this is the final draft.

This was the very first draft of the print advert, we decided it did not connote the theme of the documentary and looked unprofessional.
